Lori - Just a quick note to tell you how much my daughter enjoyed your class at KES this Fall.  We've already signed up for Winter sessions I & II and look forward to seeing you then.  Thanks so much for making Boot Camp so much fun.  My daughter has taken not only the exercise seriously at home, but also the healthy eating tips you suggested as well.  She has been drinking a lot of water and continues to try new foods regularly!!! -                  Tammy O., Killingworth

"Today's workout was excellent!  I really enjoyed how you had each partner pair switch up at each station.  I love that you always make each workout new.  I really meant it when I said that I love coming to Shoreline Focus on Fitness.  I love the new friends and just the whole easy going, yet hard working, atmosphere that you have created!  I look forward to coming to each class!!! "
- Margaret, Killingworth.
Lori and her program are fantastic.  I absolutely hate to exercise but now I find myself getting out of bed at 5:00 AM to go to Lori's class.  Lori is an incredible motivator and keeps her classes varied so we can never get bored or tired of doing the same old thing.  I also really hate the whole "gym" atmosphere - one full of people more concerned with what you're wearing, than whether you're getting a good workout.  Lori's class in nothing like that.  It is filled with women who are supportive of each other and help us all stay motivated and have fun.  I cannot recommend her highly enough and certainly cannot deny the results she has helped me achieve in both weight loss and strength gained.       - Eileen - Killingworth, CT

Lori is one of the most positive, energetic and motivating people I know.  She is passionate about fitness and makes each of our classes challenging, creative, and most importantly...FUN!  As part of her functional training circuit class, I am motivated to push past my perceived limits and get results.  I have incredible energy.  My balance and flexibility have improved immensely and I have great new muscles! - Laurel, Killingworth, CT

I've been attending Lori's circuit training class for 6 months now and I have to say, while I've always remained active, this is the one class that I've really stuck with.  It's definitely not because its easy, quite the opposite actually.  It is because it is very challenging and I leave each class feeling like I really accomplished something.  Lori changes the exercises every class and is constantly challenging every body part in different ways, never allowing me, or my muscles, to "get comfortable".  She shows you how you can make each exercise station more difficult to suit your physical demands which is usually when she reminds you, "remember, this is YOUR workout". - Kristin M. - Haddam, CT

I have spent a great deal of my adult life searching for a successful formula for lasting weight loss that I can live with.  Happily, I seem to have found it in Lori's fitness classes.  At first, I was hesitant that I would be uncomfortable working out with women who were thinner and in better shape than I, but Lori encouraged me to try a class and see what it was like.  I was very pleased to find an encouraging, supportive group of like-minded women who distract me from the work at hand, and make fitness fun.  Exercising with an arthritic knee is a challenge, but Lori always has an alternative exercise available for me, so I can get the most out of my workout.  Yes, the class is tough, but the progress I have made in my fitness level, as well as my weight loss goals, continue to motivate me to make this a permanent lifestyle change.  Lori is an enthusiastic cheerleader who pushes me to break out of my comfort zone.  I can honestly say I've learned to love a good workout so much, that a day without some form of exercise now feels incomplete.

Ironically, it was my seven year old daughter that led me to Lori.  My daughter, Analisa, did Lori's kids class, "Kids Focus on Fitness", through the recreation department as an after school activity.  She came home tired after class and liked it enough to want to sign up again for the next session.  Thanks, Lori! - Trish H. - Killingworth, CT

1. Circuit training is fun.  I love coming to class to see you and the gals because I know that I’ll have a good time.2. Circuit training is hard.  I have been taking your classes for A YEAR now, and it is still a challenge, and THAT IS GOOD!  However I know that on days that I don’t feel so great or am under the weather I can still get a good workout depending on how much I push myself.   I am also SO motivated by the girls in the class…it is amazing to see the progress that some have made, and that just fuels my fire to work even harder.  They are amazing.3. Variety is the spice of life, and of a workout, too!   I have taken your classes twice a week for a year and I have yet to see the same workout twice.  It is always different, and always fun.  You put a lot of thought into keeping it fresh and it shows. 4. You are a great teacher.  I know that you know when I need more of a challenge, and you provide it.   When someone isn’t quite able to complete an exercise as it is designed you are right there to offer support and provide an alternative that will get the job done.   If someone has a question that you don’t have an answer to, you do the research on it and provide the answers, and in turn we all benefit.  You care for us and it shows, even if you do have to keep us in line sometimes!  5. I can do ANYTHING for 45 seconds. A year ago, my husband used to refer to me as “the most out-of-shape-skinny-person that he knows”.  I was tired all of the time, irritable, and though not overweight I certainly had no muscle tone to speak of.  Where had all of the strength of my youth gone??  I know, it had probably fallen behind the couch cushions while I was lying there watching HGTV and eating the leftover frosting out of the can.  My back hurt all the time too, so how could I possibly get up and exercise?   Time for a nap.  It all seemed like too much to deal with…until Lori said that she was starting up a circuit training class.  “What the heck is circuit training?” I ask.  She explains, then I offer to be her guinea pig.  And I have never regretted it.

Where am I now?  I have shoulders again.  Real ones that look okay in a tank top.  When I sit down my thighs no longer spread out to cover the entire surface of the chair that I am on.  I have tons of energy, my back no longer hurts, and I can beat my son in a push-up contest. (Well, at least for now.)  I have definition in places where I never actually expected to see it again, and I feel good about myself.  That’s key.  Thank you, Lori, for having this class!  - Sandy M. - Killingworth, CT
