"GET FOCUSED. GET FIT."

Day 1 - Session III - August 15, 2007
We could not have asked for a better weather day to start off our third session of FocusFit Boot Camp.  Cool, crisp and sunny!  We had 10 women start out our new session - one new gal joined us for the first time - welcome, Lynn!  After stretching and getting are bodies warmed up...we moved over to the partner relay area for our dynamic warm up.  Everyone was moving!  Some recruits were performing exercises while others jogged in place.  By the end, these women were warmed up and ready to move on to the circuit of the day.  10 exercise stations were set up to challenge the recruits.  A full body workout!  We took a group picture to show everyone how much fun we're having with fitness!  Way to go ladies!

Day 2 - August 16, 2007
What a difference a couple of days can make - wet, dirty and humid are our descriptive words for today!  8 women met the challenges of the day today.  Stretching and waking up were first on the docket, followed by a friendly hand of "fitness poker".  Our partner teams performed the exercises of the hand that they were dealt.  Once more, there were those who believed that the deck was fixed!  Off to the 10 station circuit.  From the BOSU bicycles to the equalizer bar jumps, these women fought through their pain.  They were sweaty...they were dirty...they were hot...but, in the end...they were victorious!  Great job today ladies!  Let us not forget this special day - Happy Birthday, TRISH!

Day 3 - August 21, 2007
A cool and rainy morning is what awaited us this day.  Today we worked out under the pavilion.  From warm-ups to circuit, a quiet group of recruits pushed themselves to meet the challenge. Way to go ladies!  If I didn't know any better...I'd say that it was Monday morning!!!

Day 4 - August 23, 2007
Today we brought our workout to water's edge!  No, not Water's Edge in Westbrook...but, water's edge at the pond in Sheldon Park.  A 10 station circuit was set up next to the water for the 8 brave recruits.  If you squinted enough, you could picture yourself at the beach in the Bahamas...well...almost!  We warmed up on the baseball field with stretches and exercises, and then a lap of single file running around the big lower field.  Partner teams made their way around the circuit.  The recruits were introduced to 3 new exercise stations.  Cheering each other on!  Way to go ladies!  The temperature and breeze, were just what the trainer ordered!  Next week will wrap up our summer session of FocusFit Boot Camp.  Boy, time sure does fly when you're having fun with fitness! Have a great weekend. - Lori

Day 5 - August 28, 2007.  The last day of FocusFit Boot Camp summer session.  It was a clear, brisk morning...and very, very wet!  After warm-ups we walked over to the obstacle course set up on the big field.  The group was split up into 2 teams.  Each lane began with a fire hose pull and carry, followed by a few bodyweight exercises stations, and a sprint back home.  Everyone did an awesome job!  Even the trainer had to join in today to even out the teams.  What a workout!  Off to the circuit we went in partner teams.  10 stations.  A couple of new exercises were introduced on our last day to keep things fresh.  These 7 women met the challenges of the day and should feel proud.  All of the women who came out this summer for FocusFit Boot Camp should be proud of themselves.  I am so proud of these women.  The changes I have seen in just a few weeks are just incredible! Each of you came out with a goal to get stronger and healthier.  I hope that by making a commitment to this group in the early morning hours during these past weeks that each of you have gotten closer to reaching your goals.  There is something to be said about being a member of a team even at this stage in our lives.  I stand and applaud each of you for a job well done!!! - Lori
